Environmental Management

Emission Controls

A number of technologies exist for the reduction of odour and gas emissions from buildings, starting with good housekeeping and including both physical and chemical treatments. Effective reduction of overall emissions will most likely include several of these control strategies rather than any single one.

Environmental Auditing

Environmental audits are intended to quantify environmental performance and environmental position. In this way they perform an analogous (similar) function to financial audits. An environmental audit report ideally contains a statement of environmental performance and environmental position, and may also aim to define what needs to be done to sustain or improve on indicators of such performance and position

Legislative Compliance

This is to ensure that personnel are aware of and take steps to comply with relevant laws and regulations. The objective is to promote a self sustaining level of operations that minimises the losses caused to the business through breaches of laws or internal misappropriations.

IPPC Licensing

International Pollution Prevention & Control - This lays down measures designed to prevent or, where that is not practicable, to reduce emissions in the air, water and land including measures concerning waste, in order to achieve a high level of protection of the environment.

Environmental Impact Statements

This is an assessment of the possible impact that a proposed project may have on the environment, together consisting of the natural, social and economic aspects. The purpose of the assessment is to endure that decision makers consider the ensuing environmental impacts to decide whether to proceed with the project.
